Hiya, I’m Joshua Cargill, celebrant, storyteller, lover of love and you might also know me as my better half, Blu Hydrangea.

At the heart of what I do is a simple belief: every love story deserves to be told properly.

 

No two couples are the same, so why should their ceremony be? Whether you’re after something traditional, completely outside the box, or a wee mix of both, I’m here to make sure your ceremony feels dead on for you.

 

I adore love, the meaning, the symbolism, the moments that make you catch your breath, but I also believe ceremonies should feel relaxed, inclusive, and true to the people standing at the front. There’s no ‘right’ way to get married, just your way. My job is to help you tell your story with warmth, humour, sincerity, and a bit of craic thrown in.

 

While I’m at the very beginning of my celebrant journey and recently accredited, I bring over 10 years of experience as a drag performer. As Blu Hydrangea, I’ve hosted TV shows, award ceremonies, and countless personal events, all of which means I’m more than comfortable with a microphone, a crowd, and big emotions. Public speaking, holding space, reading a room, and keeping things flowing smoothly are second nature to me. And yes, you get to choose how I show up on the day. I can officiate your ceremony as Josh, calm and heartfelt, or as Blu Hydrangea, glamorous, bold, and unforgettable. Either way, the focus is always on you, your love, and the promise you’re making.
